The Science Lesson

It was the year 5,000,009 in Thetasolarstardust configiration Zon. Glazen4 and his friend Ksazsimir6, vacuumed their breakfast of high voltage electricity into the duobrain inputs situated in their selenite optical apparatus. The two alien boys stuffed themselves stupid and ran to class. Soon, the children were at their desks, fully alert.

Dr Quantum spoke: "Morning Class 6B, today we will be investigating microcivilisations permitted by strong light sources across originating gas explosions” Quantum’s voice rose, slightly peeved, “Quiet at the back, I need your full concentration, Glazen4. Everyone kindly proceed to the Lab, avoiding all contact with the luminous projection area of the Sublima 5 Refracting Electron Microscope. In order to do our experiment this afternoon I will be supplying you with Hydrogen and Helium. You may now plug your rubber tubes into the gas taps into your respective glass containers, making sure not to deactivate the spectromagnetic thallium burners. Secure the lid on your boxes. Now each of you light your allocated match and light the string that passes into it.”

Dr Quantum briskly turned on the gas supply: simultaneously each student witnessed their own Big Bang.

"Got anything interesting?" asked Ksazmir6.

"Nah, just a standard Andromeda configuration on the dark side of a black hole," replied Glazen4. “What about you?"

“Nothing much, only a microconfiguration of 9 planets going in different rotations around a microsun” replied Ksazmir6.

"I say, I haven't seen such an elementary galaxy for ages, let's all take a look!” exclaimed Dr Quantum.

Dr Quantum handled Ksazmir's transparent box, situating it under the Microscope. "Now for a closer look," beamed Quantum. "I’ll skip that microsun, we’ve seen those hundreds of times. However, I’ve never seen such an array of micros before,

most interesting.” Dr Quantum maneuvered the lens onto the first tiniest microdot, zooming in as he went.

"This looks like a garden variety molten core configuration… Next… ” He moved the lens. "This second micro is spinning in the opposite direction, amusing isn’t it?" quipped Quantum, "and this third one... a Red planet...” The teacher moved on quickly - “Oh my goodness, LOOK! A carbon-based micro with an oxygenated microatmosphere! Ok, direct your attention to the viewer all of you.”

“There is some sort of organic matter and H2O,” Quantum zoomed in, curious… “see the volume of water and varied terrains, micromountains, microdeserts..."

"Hmm… You have created something quite unusual here, Ksazmir Six." spoke Dr Quantum. Dr Quantum was about to move onto the next planet when he momentarily increased the magnification and observed twitching bipeds on the surface of the land.

"Ah, I remember, learning about these organic forms in PreHistory 1 - very primitive living forms… they were known as ‘humans’: a self-destructive, parasitic organic form, a ghastly and greedy microvirus, deemed a risk to the entire Multiverse,” explained Dr Quantum.

“Ok, class is over,” announced Quantum, “kindly turn off your gas taps and shut down your universes… All creation must end before anyone leaves for playtime."
